About

The Ontario Animal Welfare Network (OAWN) is a collaborative of 15 SPCAs and Humane Societies across Ontario working together to advance animal welfare in our respective communities. OAWN provides a range of services, and

SUPPORTS OVER 50% OF ONTARIO’S POPULATION

Looking back, our mission was animal protection and our focus was working animals. Today, not only is rescue, rehab, and rehoming of pet companions a key role, so too are education and advocacy to keep all living things healthy and safe. Network partners have registered charities and donor-based organizations, guided by respective Boards of Directors, committed to making a difference locally for healthy, safe, and wanted animals.

OAWN partners share best practices, develop and spread innovative solutions, and help each other out when the shelters are full, resources are lean, or the crisis of the day is large. We are guided by the knowledge that many heads and hands make miracles happen, amplify the voices of those who cannot speak for themselves and advance animal welfare policy changes.
